Producer Owned, Customer Focused

United Farmers Cooperative has their administrative headquarters in York, Nebraska. UFC serves over 6,200 voting members and close to 5,000 non-voting members in 22 counties in Nebraska and Kansas. Our patrons are served from 31 locations by a team of 200 fulltime employees. The prime directive of UFC is:

"To protect, enhance and return the Equity of UFC in a sustainable and responsible manner."

Shortly before the turn of the 21st century, the Board of Directors from three of the largest cooperatives in south central Nebraska had the foresight to envision the synergies of those three companies into one strong sustainable cooperative. By March 1, 2001, the merger of United Co-op Inc. of Hampton, Farmers Cooperative Association of York and Farmers Co-op Business Association of Shelby, NE formed a new company, called United Farmers Cooperative (UFC). Their goal was to drive down operational and input cost, while providing better marketing opportunities.

The following mergers and acquisition have brought UFC to what it is today.

  • The initial merger in March 2001, brought the following locations on board:
    • United Co-op- Hampton, Benedict, Hordville, Polk, Stromsburg, Stockham   Farmers Cooperative Association - York, Beaver Crossing, Bee, Bradshaw, Garland, Staplehurst, Tamora, Thayer, Utica Oil and Waco
    • Farmers Coop Business Association - Shelby, Gresham, Rising City, Utica Grain and Ulysses
  • April of 2005, we acquired the following locations in Kansas - Greenleaf, Haddam, Linn and Washington.
  • March 2006, we merged with the following Kansas locations: Agenda, Barnes, Clifton, Clyde, Narka and Riverside.
  • September 2007, we brought on Cuba, Kansas as a "basics" Agronomy location.
  • March 2008, we purchased H&H Grain Company in Norway, Kansas
